Research Assistants
Martin Hansen (Project Coordinator) is a Master's student in Political Science at Lund University, currently writing his thesis on Neo-republicanism as a framework for Animal Liberation. Besides a bachelor's degree with a major in Political Science from Lund University, he has also studied Economics, Statistics and Philosophy and spent a semester as an exchange student at Korea University in the Fall of 2014. Before joining STANCE, Martin used to work full time as president of the student unions at Lund University and is currently a member of the multidisciplinary think tank LU Futura. In 2019, he was Sweden's representative in the Europe-Japan exchange MIRAI 2019 on the topic of Politics and National Security. His research interests include political inequality, political security and normative political theory. |
Previous Research Assistants
Pia Lonnakko (Project Coordinator) is a Master’s student in Political Science at Lund University and is currently writing her Master’s thesis in said subject. She has also studied Peace and Conflict Studies, also at Lund University, Gender Studies at Stockholm University and International Law at the Swedish Defence University. In 2015 she did an internship at the Swedish Embassy in Tallinn, Estonia and among her research interests are peace building, security politics and identity constructions. |
Linda Eitrem Holmgren is a PhD student at the Transitional Justice Institute at Ulster University in Belfast in addition to working part-time as a research assistant for STANCE. She has a Master's degree in Political Science from Lund University (2014) and has also studied International Relations, Economics and Archaeology. Her research interests include conflict resolution, gender and nationalism. Her Master's thesis "Where There is Dialogue, There is Hope" Nation, Gender and Transversal Dialogue in Belfast, Northern Ireland was published in 2014 as a working paper in the Contested Administrations Working Paper Series. |
Swaantje Marten is currently a political journalist in Berlin. After her bachelor's degree in Development Studies from Lund University, she went on to do a master's in Applied Development Economics at the London School of Economics. Her interests lie in social policy and the informal economy. Swaantje is from Germany.

Cem Mert Dallı is a Master’s student in Welfare Policies and Management at Lund University majoring in Political Science. Before moving to Sweden in 2017 as a Swedish Institute scholarship holder, Cem received his double-major degree in History and Political Science & International Relations from Boğaziçi University, Turkey. He also studied at University of Edinburgh as an exchange student in Spring 2016. Prior to joining STANCE project, he has worked as research assistant in several research projects, including with MIT Professor Fotini Christia, and conducted weekly discussions for Comparative Politics course at Boğaziçi University.
